First goal was on Brown and that terrible clearing attempt. No look flip towards the blue line that hit a skate a stayed in the zone resulting in the goal. And then Shore (?) with the lazy dump that didn't even get the red line after a long shift in the zone.

That first goal looked like a bad turnover by Brown. Not sure what happened there. It looked like he didn't expect the SJ player to be so close to him at that point. Also, Forbs looked shocked by what transpired and got caught totally flat footed. Karlsson had an easy streak to the net. Twas totally (frank)ed. It was just poopty all around. Pears is getting his chances and playing well, just not finishing like he can. I fully expect him to start popping in some goals soon. Start Jones was reading the plays extremely well and was in position to make the stops. It was just unfortunate. Andreoff somehow played 13:25, almost as much as Pears and TT. I don't get that. Marty played 29:05, so Stevens is leaning on him heavy; possibly giving DD some rest event though DD played over 26 min. MacD played slightly over 10 min. I'm not sure how long he will stay in that 6th slot considering LaDue, Folin, and Gravel are more mobile and have more upside.

MacD did look extra slow out there... I think that experiment will be concluding soon and he might be used against more plodding teams. TT got off 6 shots and some serious quality chances, stick tap to Jones. I was disappointed that Brown only had 1 hit...

i agree, bad clearing attempt by Brown, but on the bright side, it was because he had done a good job hustling back and getting in the play.
The Shore dump was bad, but so was Doughty deciding to forecheck when his partner is stickless and whole line is going for a change. He had a terrible game, it was very frustrating.

In regards to Macdermid, I truly haven't understood his usage. He is slow and not good with the puck, but physical and has a decent shot. He can slide as a 7th dman who gets in against heavier teams once in awhile, but should never be in vs. Tampa. And really out of our 9 NHL caliber dmen, he's 9th.
I'd really like to see Ladue up, and for us to try:
24/8
6/5
27/38
The 6/27 pair just does not work, and 6/5 looked great to start the season. Folin is the most conservative defender we have, so can cover when Muzzin makes a mistake. Small sample size, but 27/38 had some good games last year. Of course, in my ultimate fantasy I'd swap Gravel in for Forbort on that top pair.

Mac makes less mistakes than Muzzin, I get some of the things you guys see in his play that is a negative, but, he is much better at fighting than Clifford, he has a decent shot the gets through, he does smarter things with the puck leaving the zone with the puck (meaning he doesn't gamble the way Muzzin does, which only pans out 30% of the time for Muzz).

I would be fine with him paired with Martinez, I like Fantenberg a lot and think he belongs in the 6 starters, the 2 I think that are killing us a bit with inconsistent play is Muzzin and Forbort. LaDue had a terrible camp and just like Brodz, did not step up.

I would not mind rotating in some other forwards and other D from Ontario just to give them a look. Not sure Amadio is really cutting it, he really looks slow in the big show.

go ahead and flame me now. I know the drill here

I love the Forbort/DD pairing. That is a great shut down pair and can skate with anyone in the league. I also think LaDue should be up with the big club. The dude has to be the best player skating in North America not with an NHL team and he's 25. There's not much more he can learn down in Ontario. It's truly a waste keeping him down there. LaDue should be on the 2nd pair with Marty. Why not have MacD at forward the way Chicago was doing with Byfuglien? I agree with Mike that he has a decent shot but he gets killed by quicker forwards. I also would like to see TT and TP getting more ice time. There is no one on the Kings I would like more with the puck in his stick taking a shot then TT. Stevens has two great lines and should be rolling them constantly, each getting 20 minutes a game.

I heard about this trade literally 3 min ago and my first though was: are you Jokinen? At least Cammy could help on the PP. WTF is Jokinen going to do? On top of that, Cammy is making only 1 mil, what kind of cap hit are we getting from Jokinen? I still don't know. There must have been some disagreement between Cammy and either coaching or management for Blake to have made this trade. I don't understand it. Cammy does have a history of being a bit of a locker room cancer and a thorn in the side of management, so could be.

This was addition by subtraction

I don't think Jokinen see's a lick of ice time and quite honestly I don't give a rip if he does... we are better off without Cammaleri. sorry, hope you guys don't have any plans on getting anything out of him

Jokinen was about to be locked in the press box for the rest of the season anyway.
Sounds like it’s a sideways move for both.

At least like the idea that cammy has a shot. Joks only remaining attribute is some intelligent defensive play.

Joke's cap hit is 100k more than Cammy's. I guess that's not too bad.

The trade definitely has a lot of question marks behind the why (perhaps a change of scenery for both players? but Cammy seems to be having a decent season so far... unless you are right in that Cammy had some beef with management). I figure we'll have more details emerge as this week goes by.

He's the game changer we're looking for. We're already planning the parade in the Oiler's forums.
